Wii’O’om’ Niin CRN Celebrates Christmas in July!
The Wii’ O’om’ Niin CRN team of Marilyn Brown, Ross McCrae, and Lorraine Half joined local vendors and service providers at Sik-E-Dakh Hall to celebrate Christmas in July!
Community members and visitors were treated to a complimentary lunch along with access to services (e.g., hair cuts, nails, brows, healing), crafts, and presentations on the topics of dementia, and wills and estates.
The CRN team was on hand with to share “big love” with everyone, along with information about the CRN and the BC CRN.

Revelstoke CRN Gets the Word Out on How to Stay Cool During Heat Wave
CRN Coordinator Laura Stovel and her team were busy getting the word out on how to keep residents safe during the first major heat wave of the summer.
In addition to writing an article containing helpful tips on how to stay cool, Laura and her volunteers ensured there were able to loan out a few fans, thermometers, and reflective insulating foil to those who needed them.

Lower Mainland Living Out and Visibly Engaged (LOVE) CRN Celebrates Pride in South Surrey
CRN Coordinator Neil Fernyhough and his teams at Alexandra Neighbourhood House invited families in the communities of South Surrey, White Rock, and Cloverdale to celebrate White Rock Pride Family Day on July 23.
The daylong event featured information and activities from Alex House’s Youth Space and the LOVE CRN.

Photos of Mount Pleasant CRN’s WEAAD 2022 Event Have Arrived!
The pictures from the CRN’s World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) event are here thanks to the planning team of CRN Coordinator Daniela Gunn-Doerge, Elizabeth McIllfaterick, and Judy Venable! On June 15, the CRN through Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House hosted the first in-person event in three years.
50 seniors from across programs came together for a lunch accompanied by live piano music and singing performances from the daycare. Gift bags, an educational presentation on phishing scams, dance performances, and cake were also on the program!
Special thanks to the following people:
- Carolyn Wong for giving an engaging and important presentation on phishing scams
- Sandra Pahl and Michael Volker for helping coordinate the food
- Sneha Nampally for taking such wonderful photos
- Claudine Matlo for giving a welcome and opening
- Jeven Bhullar and Lakshmi Ranasinghe and the day care staff for bringing the kids to sing and hand out the gift bags
- Cameron Pearson, Amy Shostak, Omnia El Shayeb and all other volunteers and staff for helping set up, take down, and hand out food
