The Wii O’om’ Niin- Hazelton CRN is located in Hazelton, in northern BC between the cities of Prince Rupert and Prince George in the district of Kitimat. One of the oldest communities in northern BC, Hazelton is a village of 300 people, with nearly a quarter who are ages 65+. The area is home to Gitxsan people (Gitanmaax, Glen Vowell and Kispiox) and there is also a nearby Wetʼsuwetʼen community. Historically, Hazelton has been a trading centre for the Hudson Bay Company, a main supply point during the gold rush, and welcomed the first ever steamboat on its shores.
