Provincial Learning Event | March 15, 2022: Digital Security Skills and Resources for Seniors

Registration is now open for this session.

This session is geared to organizations that support seniors and who are interested in teaching seniors the digital security skills they need to help protect themselves online, to safely navigate virtual interactions and technology, and to maintain independence.

In this session, participants will receive an overview of some of Gluu Society’s online, volunteer, and teaching resources on digital security, digital literacy, as well as the resources available that can help seniors learn how to use a tablet.

Linda Fawcus is the founder and CEO of the Gluu Society, a non-profit organization that aims to help older adults safely learn technology through classes, at-home support, and online to stay healthy and connected to their community. She has over 27 years of experience as a tech entrepreneur and consultant. Her 86-year-old mother was the reason why she founded Gluu Society. To date, Gluu Society’s funding partners include HelpAge, United Way, CIRA, ISED, Service Canada, and others who work together to ensure seniors stay an integral part of the digital landscape.
