BC CRN is thrilled to announce the appointment of April Struthers as our Director of Knowledge Exchange, Research, and Learning. This newly established role is already creating exciting opportunities for the Association.
April has been a BC CRN Regional Mentor for the Sunshine Coast since 2003 and has played a key role in our Evaluation and Program Development Teams in recent years.
As the founder of Wit Works Ltd., April has led projects across Canada, the UK, and the US, working inter-professionally to enhance organizational capacity, foster partnerships, and conduct prevention research. She specializes in non-intrusive practice in First Nations communities and has written extensively on networks, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Her work includes developing anti-racism programs for the Province of BC (Ministry of Attorney General).
April has co-authored several national publications related to the Federal Elder Abuse Initiative and has contributed to key resources such as a cross-cultural intervention tool for the National Initiative for the Care of the Elderly. She has also developed national and provincial curricula for professional anti-abuse training.
April is actively involved in the national It’s Not Right! community of practice and is a contributor to the Elder Abuse Prevention Ontario podcast, where she has co-hosted episodes of Ageing Vibrantly.
We are incredibly fortunate to have April’s expertise guiding BC CRN’s ongoing learning and growth.
