The RCMP’s National Cybercrime Coordination Centre (NC3) and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (CAFC) officially concluded Maple Disruption 2025, a focused, time-limited initiative to disrupt fraud and cybercrime affecting people across Canada.
From December 8 to 11, experts from more than 25 organizations worked together to shut down the tools fraudsters rely on, such as scam email addresses, phone numbers, and cryptocurrency accounts. Partners include law enforcement, banks, telecom companies, technology and crypto firms, government agencies, non-profits, and researchers.
Maple Disruption 2025 by the numbers:
- 1,622 fraud reports reviewed
- 3,021 disruptive actions taken
- $4.7 million in reported losses
These results highlight the power of collaboration. By working across sectors, Maple Disruption partners were able to respond quickly, disrupt criminal activity, and strengthen protections for Canadians facing growing online fraud threats.
