Heather Treleaven
Executive Director
Heather.Treleaven@bccrns.caHeather joins the BC CRN after leading the Seniors Network Society of Maple Ridge & Pitt Meadows for the past 14 years. During her tenure, Heather supported the development and work of the local CRN and saw firsthand the value of its grassroots initiatives to create a coordinated community response to adult abuse, neglect and self-neglect.
Under Heather’s leadership the Cities of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows earned the BC Age Friendly Community designation, and the City of Maple Ridge became a member of the World Health Organization’s Global Network of Age Friendly Cities. Other notable achievements include the construction and a decade of operation of an Intergenerational Garden where older adult volunteers grow vegetables, flowers, herbs, and friendships with school age children. Working with Emergency Management Professionals, Heather oversaw the publication of an Emergency Preparedness Guide for Seniors that was recently adopted by the United Way of British Columbia and expanded into a provincial resource.
Heather replaces executive director, Sherry Baker, who retired at the end of March 2024.
