About the South Shuswap Community Response Network:
As part of the BC Association of Community Response Networks, the South Shuswap Community Response Network includes interested agencies or organizations, businesses, social groups, faith communities, and individuals. We are always building a listing of groups and individuals in the South Shuswap who have regular, ongoing contact with potentially vulnerable adults as part of their day and may be interested in this network.
The network meets mid-morning on the fourth Tuesday of each month, in person with an option to zoom in as well. Contact Mary at 250-675-2421 (ext 104) or CRN@sorrentocentre.ca for more information.
As the host agency, the team at Sorrento Centre acts as first point of contact for people with a variety of needs and concerns, ensuring they are connected to local, provincial, and national resources to meet their needs. The network also hosts prevention and education activities with local stakeholders to build a coordinated response to abuse, neglect and self-neglect of vulnerable adults
About Sorrento Centre:
Sorrento Centre serves as a community hub in the South Shuswap for vulnerable seniors and others who are the focus of CRN work. One of our core values is to be an inclusive place for all and we work hard to be a good neighbour in the South Shuswap as well as the wider Shuswap region.
Tucked beside the school on Passchendaele Road, the centre is known to many in the south Shuswap as a welcoming and inclusive gathering place for all. It’s also a place where weavers weave and quilters quilt, where musicians jam and yoga teachers practice, where children play and learners learn, where dogs and cyclists gather, and where the weary rest as meditators find peace and the spiritual nourish their souls.
The South Shuswap Community Response Network is on the traditional and unceded lands of the Secwépemc people.
