Shuswap Community Response Network

As part of the BC Community Response Networks, the Shuswap Community Response Network includes interested agencies or organizations, businesses, social groups, faith communities, and individuals. We are always building a listing of groups and individuals in the Shuswap who have regular, ongoing contact with potentially vulnerable adults as part of their day and may be interested in this network. The success of this Network has allowed them to branch out embracing The North and South Shuswap areas.

The network meets mid-morning on the first Monday of each month, in person with an option to zoom in as well. Contact Maryann at 250-675-2421 (ext 106) or CRN@sorrentocentre.ca for more information.

As the host agency, the team at Sorrento Retreat and Conference Centre acts as first point of contact for people with a variety of needs and concerns, ensuring they are connected to local, provincial, and national resources to meet their needs. The network also hosts prevention and education activities with local stakeholders to build a coordinated response to abuse, neglect and self-neglect of vulnerable adults.

About Sorrento Retreat and Conference Centre

Sorrento Retreat and Conference Centre serves as a community hub in the South Shuswap for vulnerable seniors and others who are the focus of CRN work. One of our core values is to be an inclusive place for all and we work hard to be a good neighbour in the Shuswap Region.

Tucked beside the school on Passchendaele Road in Sorrento, the centre is known to many in the Shuswap as a welcoming and inclusive gathering place for all. A few of the kinds of groups who find nourishment there are peacekeepers, weavers, quilters, musicians, yogis, cyclists, meditators, animal lovers, writers, painters, and so many others.

Share Sorrento Retreat and Conference Centre with your group. Come and nourish your physical and spiritual wellbeing together.  Learn more at https://sorrentocentre.ca.

The Shuswap Community Response Network is on the traditional and unceded lands of the Secwépemc people.
