Kamloops is a city located in the southern interior of BC, between the Thompson River and Kamloops Lake. Of its almost 104,000 residents, about 19% are seniors 65 and over, and they form the largest community in the Thompson-Nicola Regional District. Kamloops is named after the anglicized Shuswap word meaning “meeting of the waters”. It’s known as the Tournament Capital of Canada and hosts over 100 different sports tournaments each year.
