The World Health Organization defines disability as an umbrella term that includes impairments, activity limitations, and participation restrictions. Disabilities may be physical, mental, cognitive, intellectual, sensory, or developmental, and can affect how a person moves, learns, communicates, or experiences the world.
Access to inclusive supports and appropriate health care helps people with disabilities live longer, healthier, and more fulfilling lives.
