National Volunteer Week 2026: Igniting Community, Connection, and Collective Impact

BC CRN Conference – North West & Central Interior CRNs

This National Volunteer Week (April 19–25, 2026), the BC Association of Community Response Networks (BC CRN) proudly celebrates the thousands of volunteers across British Columbia who work every day to help prevent adult abuse, neglect, and self‑neglect.

Their dedication strengthens the Community Response Networks that bring together service organizations, government, law enforcement, health partners, non‑profits, businesses, concerned residents and many others to create safer, more connected communities.

This year’s theme Ignite Volunteerism is a national call to inspire people in Canada to reconnect with their communities through acts of service, civic action, and mutual support. Ignite Volunteerism encourages everyone to “Find Your Thing,” highlighting the personal and meaningful ways individuals contribute to community well‑being.

The UN General Assembly has proclaimed 2026 the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development, making this an especially powerful moment to recognize the impact of volunteerism. Across BC, CRN volunteers embody this spirit by hosting resource fairs, offering presentations, coordinating community events, and uniting local partners to build a coordinated response to the prevention of abuse and neglect.
