Provincial Learning Event Webinar: Investment Fraud & AI Scams – Stay Informed, Stay Safe

The informative session explored how to protect yourself and your community from investment fraud. Hosted by BC CRN and the BC Securities Commission (BCSC), the presentation covered key topics including investment fraud awareness, common warning signs, and current scams targeting investors. Drawing from trusted resources on InvestRight.org, it highlighted how fraudsters exploited social connections, online platforms, and emerging technologies to deceive victims. A special focus was placed on AI-related investment scams, where bad actors used deepfake videos, voice cloning, and fake websites to promote fraudulent investment opportunities.

Whether participants were new to investing or wanted to stay informed, the session provided practical tools to recognize, reject, and report suspicious activity – empowering viewers to secure their financial future.
