In the third part of our series on artificial intelligence (AI), we look at ways to use AI to help you research subjects. It has tremendous capability to quickly scan the internet and return results to you within minutes.
Easy Research with AI
Some “generative” AI programs can quickly scan the internet and gather relevant information in one place, making it much faster than doing your own search from scratch, sorting through results and pulling the pertinent details.
It’s called generative because it can generate new material based on what it learns or, more accurately, the material it gathers based on the words you’ve used in your search request.
ChatGPT is an example of generative AI. Follow the link for ChatGPT to see what it looks like. You don’t have to sign up for an account and can use it for free. It’s best to type specific questions, such as “Who was elected in the recent BC election?” “or “What are the three best ways to get rid of aphids?” This is a blessing to anyone with accessibility issues, such as immobility, dyslexia or arthritic hands.
Have fun, search for a few topics that interest you and see where it goes!
Tip: Generative AI compiles information from other websites, so check that it’s correct before using it. Like all sources, a human must confirm its accuracy.
