Saanich Peninsula CRN Deliver 100 Info Packages to Recognize Fraud Prevention Month
CRN Coordinator Anna Hudson and her team of volunteers assembled and delivered over 100 information packages to communities, including the Tsartlip First Nation, located on the peninsula and Brentwood Bay. The team was invited by the Tsartlip First Nation to share See Something, Say Something and Keeping Safe in Communities in May.

Castlegar CRN and Selkirk College Nursing Research Published
A collaborative research project between Selkirk College Nursing and the Castlegar CRN’s Kootenay IRIS project has been published in the latest volume of Perspectives, the journal of the Canadian Gerontological Nursing Association (CGNA).
Their study, called Exploring the Impact of COVID-19 on the Mental and Physical Health of Older Adults in a Small Rural Community: What We Learned, explored the impact of COVID-19 on the health of older adults and elicited ways communities and healthcare providers could support them. The group of older adults studied provided insight into what older adults want and need during and beyond the current pandemic. Data was gathered through phone, online, and paper surveys completed by individuals aged 65 years and older residing in rural Castlegar. Read the study now.

Sparwood CRN Help Kick Off Local Arts and Culture Week
The CRN team in Sparwood ensured that people had access to adult abuse, neglect, and self-neglect information and resources at A Taste of Sparwood on April 24, which kicked off a weeklong celebration of the town’s arts and culture scene after a two-year hiatus. Cranbrook CRN and United Way BC Celebrate the Community
Volunteers from the Cranbrook CRN, through the Cranbrook Age-Friendly Advisory Committee, and United Way BC sponsored an event at Western Financial Place to celebrate the community. Residents were treated to free swimming, hot dogs, disc golf, and golf demonstrations.
