Nelson is a city found on the west side of Kootenay Lake nestled in the Selkirk mountains. It’s characterized by a number of preserved historical buildings from the 1867 Silver Rush, which helped the city garner the name “The Queen City”. Nelson is the seat of the municipal government for Regional District of Central Kootenay and is home to roughly 18,300 people.
