While not an official regional district, the Lakes District refers to a cluster of unconnected lakes found in the BC central Interior. First Nations local to the Lakes District are the Wetʼsuwetʼen First Nation, Lake Babine Nation, Cheslatta Carrier Nation, Ts’il Kaz Koh First Nation, Skin Tyee First Nation and Nee-Tahi-Buhn Band. One of the main hubs in this area is the town of Burns Lake, which has just under 2,000 residents, with 13% of the population being seniors 65+.
