The village of Kaslo is located on the west shore of Kootenay Lake in the Central Kootenay Regional District. Kaslo is associated with the silver boom in the late nineteenth century. The main industries today are forestry and tourism. It has a population of just under 1,000 people, with approximately 30% being seniors 65+.
