Community Response Networks

Invermere Community Response Network

Thank you for visiting the Invermere CRN page. We are just getting started with the CRN programming in Invermere and are excited to share the news with our community and partners. Should you have any questions or comments please reach out to the Invermere coordinator.

The Ktunaxa people sustained themselves in this territory for 12,000 years by hunting, fishing and gathering in a cyclical pattern according to the seasons. This little town nestled on the shores of Lake Windemere now has a population of approximately 4,000 people and offers a lovely climate that is often quite warm and sunny in the summer and mostly mild in the winter. Invermere is the service centre and hub for the Columbia River valley. Forestry is the leading resource industry, but tourism also plays an  important role. Being just a quick trip 15 kms south of the Radium Hot Springs, and 3 hours from Calgary make Invermere a popular destination for tourists who love the lake, hiking, biking and more. Our bustling community is also home to the Whiteway; the world’s longest outdoor skating trail and sits near Panorama Ski Resort which is a winter paradise for many and a fabulous place to call home!

December 19, 2024 message from CRN Coordinator:

Leanne will be hanging out at Sobeys in Invermere this week raising awareness about the community response network. This is Leanne’s first public community engagement since joining as the Invermere CRN in October.  Community members can stop by the CRN display to learn more and enter to win a beautiful Christmas gift basket!
