Campbell River Community Response Network

Part of the Strathcona Regional District on Vancouver Island’s east coast, Campbell River is also known as the “Salmon capital of the World” due to a historic connection with the fishing industry and prominent local hatcheries. Set in Discovery Passage, Campbell River is close to several of the Discovery Islands, including Quadra and Cortes Islands. The greater Campbell River area is home to just under 38,000 people, 21% who are 65 and over.
